If you are used to the txt msg option and you would like to try WAP you can make the same requests as you did in a txt msg.

The difference is that you can receive more information with WAP.

To access the service you need to enter the following URL into your mobile: wap.rideline.co.nz

Check with your phone's manual (or supplier) for further information on entering a URL and saving it as a bookmark.

The screen display varies slightly between different brands of mobile phone.

eg. if you own a Nokia 6210:

- Select the ‘Menu’ soft key.
- Arrow to the ‘Services’ menu, and click
- Select ‘Bookmarks’ option
- Select the ‘Options’ soft key
- Select ‘Add Bookmark’
- Enter the address: wap.rideline.co.nz select OK
- Enter a title (eg. Rideline) and select OK
- To connect to the service select the bookmark you have just created
- ‘Connecting to the service’ will appear on your screen
- You are connected when you see the Rideline logo and home page menu:

1. Quick text - a quick message
2. My Stop - not active
3. My Route - if you know your route number
4. A to B - to put in start and destinations and get more detail

If your mobile does not support the full version, you will see a heading ‘Rideline LT’.

You can then enter route(s), number or place to place (streets, suburbs, or landmarks).

OPTION 3 - If you know your route number
This option gives departure information only.
You send the bus, train or ferry routes you want to know about…

(87 refers to all the routes starting with the first two digits 87, eg. 875, 877, 879, etc)

You can select:

We reply with a list of when and where these services depart.

By putting ‘at’ in your message you can control the bus starting position.

eg. 82 AFTER 2p AT AUCKLAND

For buses starting with 82 and starting their journey at Auckland city.

If you are using a street in the from or to field you must include st or rd

In the ‘to’ field enter where you want to go, eg. zoo

we reply with some options of services to catch to get there

eg.

Click on details & maps and you will receive departure and arrival times, walking distances, bus route description, carrier, fare and concession fare costs (student/senior citizen).

Use name and name for intersections

eg. shortland and queen to universal and lincoln
