Home  General Information  The Auckland Regional Council's role
The Auckland Regional Council (ARC) does not operate public passenger transport services but is the public transport planning and funding agency for the Auckland region.

The Council lets contracts to bus, train, and ferry operators for the provision of public passenger transport services that are unable to be provided profitably by the operators. Funding is provided by ratepayers in the region, and from taxpayers through the government agency Transfund.

This website shows public passenger transport services provided by operators who have a contract with the Auckland Regional Council.
